Designed to handle the heavy demands of military use, the Aircraft Support™ from Little Giant Ladder Systems® is the elite ladder for use with military aircraft.
Compact enough to set up inside or outside an aircraft vessel, the multi-position Aircraft Support helps you get to work with ease. Configure the ladder in stepladder, extension, staircase, 90-degree and trestle-and-plank* scaffolding positions, so you can get closer to your work in a fraction of the time. This ladder also is certified as a two-person ladder when used in the stepladder position.
As a military professional, your needs on a ladder differ from civilian use, which is why Little Giant specifically made the Aircraft Support ultra-compatible with your unique needs. The airstrip can be windy, but the attached D-rings tie down each leg of the ladder for added stability on windy or unstable surfaces. In the event of the ladder tipping from a strong breeze, the shock-absorbing rubber impact bumpers protect your ladder.
This ladder meets or exceeds all OSHA and ANSI standards, and is rated Type IA to hold 300 lbs., and in stepladder configuration, can hold 300 lbs. on both sides. It is available in 13’, 17’, 22’ and 26’ sizes.

Size refers to the ANSI definition of length. ANSI states that the size is defined by the combined length of all rail sections, with a tolerance of +/-3” on each section. Note, this does not take into account any overlap between sliding sections like those on an extension or multi-purpose ladder. This can cause a disparity in the size of the ladder versus the actual height. To determine which ladder you need, Little Giant recommends you reference maximum reach height instead of size.
The terminology for ladder duty ratings, grades, and types can sometimes be confusing. The ladder's duty rating is the maximum safe load capacity of that ladder according to ANSI standards. There are 3 types of ratings that Little Giant offers:
Type I - Made to handle everyday projects. Has a load capacity of 250 lbs.
Type IA- Designed with durability and regular use in mind. Has a load capacity of 300 lbs.
Type IAA- Built for professional performance and rugged use. Has a load capacity of 375 lbs.
Ladder specifications can be confusing due to safety regulation requirements. According to ANSI (American National Standards Institute), the ladder size is defined as the total length of each section and does not account for overlap on extension ladders. As a result, the overlapping sections reduce the total length of the ladder. When purchasing any ladder customers should pay particular attention to the maximum reach to ensure the correct product for the job.
