Description

Safety Step™

When you’re working on a project that doesn’t quite need a stepladder, you need a simple, easy-to-use stepstool. The Safety Step is a lightweight, aluminum stepstool. It is available in 2, 3 and 4-step models. It is a Type IA stepladder, rated for 300 lbs. and meets or exceeds all OSHA and ANSI standards.

The non-slip steps prevent you from losing your balance. The Safety Step is perfect for when you need a temporary staircase, like while framing a house or welding.

Extra-Wide Feet

The wide, rubberized feet help you work over grates or other surfaces where smaller ladder feet could slide.

    safety step 3-step

wanted this for my mother inlaw but it's alittle bigger & heavier than expected, will maybe order a 2-step for her but the 3-step is pretty nice, wide steps and built very well, so I'll keep this one.

Thank you for your review! We're glad to hear that you find the Safety Step to be well-built with wide, comfortable steps. We understand that it may be a bit bigger and heavier than expected for your mother-in-law. If you decide to go with the 2-step version, we hope it meets your needs perfectly. Thank you for your feedback and for choosing to keep the 3-step model. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please let us know.

Light weight. Easy to open. Easier the bringing in a large ladder when you don’t have to get to high up. storage tray is handy. This is my third little giant. They are all great. I only gave it 4 stars because I feel it should lock when open. When you grab the step to move it it starts to close.

FAQs
What size ladder do I need?

Size refers to the ANSI definition of length. ANSI states that the size is defined by the combined length of all rail sections, with a tolerance of +/-3” on each section. Note, this does not take into account any overlap between sliding sections like those on an extension or multi-purpose ladder. This can cause a disparity in the size of the ladder versus the actual height. To determine which ladder you need, Little Giant recommends you reference maximum reach height instead of size.

What is duty rating?

The terminology for ladder duty ratings, grades, and types can sometimes be confusing. The ladder's duty rating is the maximum safe load capacity of that ladder according to ANSI standardsThere are 3 types of ratings that Little Giant offers:

Type I - Made to handle everyday projects. Has a load capacity of 250 lbs.

Type IA- Designed with durability and regular use in mind. Has a load capacity of 300 lbs.

Type IAA- Built for professional performance and rugged use. Has a load capacity of 375 lbs.

What is the difference between SIZE and MAXIMUM REACH HEIGHT?

Ladder specifications can be confusing due to safety regulation requirements. According to ANSI (American National Standards Institute), the ladder size is defined as the total length of each section and does not account for overlap on extension ladders. As a result, the overlapping sections reduce the total length of the ladder. When purchasing any ladder customers should pay particular attention to the maximum reach to ensure the correct product for the job.
