After 30 years of lugging around my old Versaladder and several fixed-size ladders, I finally took the plunge and ordered the 18-foot Little Giant MegaLite+. My only regret is having waited so long.
It’s not an overstatement to say that the MegaLite+ is everything I had hoped for in a “modern” version of an adjustable ladder. It is at least 10 pounds lighter than my vintage Versaladder and the one-foot height adjustments handily replace several ladders that have been cluttering my garage for decades. The Little Giant is built like a tank, but is a manageable weight; the adjustment mechanisms are solid, smooth and easy to use; the wheels are super-helpful (I’m not getting any younger); and the built-in leg levelers (which seem to be unique to Little Giant) are an absolute game-changer since finding perfectly flat ground on the exterior of my house is a near-impossibility.
The bundle was a great deal (even with the expensive shipping cost). Now, instead of stressing over whether to order this or that accessory which I *might* need in the future, I have a good “starter pack” of gadgets to make pretty much any DIY project easier and safer.
I can’t wait for the weather to clear up so I can roll out my ladder and tackle a few projects!

Our grandson asked for this for Christmas. He had it unpacked and tried it out immediately. He loves it. He bought his first house last year so it will be put to good use!
Size refers to the ANSI definition of length. ANSI states that the size is defined by the combined length of all rail sections, with a tolerance of +/-3” on each section. Note, this does not take into account any overlap between sliding sections like those on an extension or multi-purpose ladder. This can cause a disparity in the size of the ladder versus the actual height. To determine which ladder you need, Little Giant recommends you reference maximum reach height instead of size.
The terminology for ladder duty ratings, grades, and types can sometimes be confusing. The ladder's duty rating is the maximum safe load capacity of that ladder according to ANSI standards. There are 3 types of ratings that Little Giant offers:
Type I - Made to handle everyday projects. Has a load capacity of 250 lbs.
Type IA- Designed with durability and regular use in mind. Has a load capacity of 300 lbs.
Type IAA- Built for professional performance and rugged use. Has a load capacity of 375 lbs.
Ladder specifications can be confusing due to safety regulation requirements. According to ANSI (American National Standards Institute), the ladder size is defined as the total length of each section and does not account for overlap on extension ladders. As a result, the overlapping sections reduce the total length of the ladder. When purchasing any ladder customers should pay particular attention to the maximum reach to ensure the correct product for the job.
