The Ultra™ from Little Giant Ladder Systems® is a sturdy, easy-to-use stepladder that is built to last. This lightweight ladder was engineered with a slim storage profile, while still supporting an impressive weight capacity. It’s a “get stuff done” ladder built for pros.
Extra-wide 3” steps with treads prevent slipping and foot fatigue, and lead to a large standing platform. At 169 square inches, the comfortable standing platform creates a sturdy workspace that fully supports the feet. Work in comfort for extended periods.
The Ultra’s innovative top cap features accessory slots for existing and future Little Giant accessories (like the Loot Box™ or Strap Holder™), a magnetic tray, a gallon and quart friction-lock system, port holes, slots and more to keep your materials within reach while working.
The Ultra is made with strong, lightweight and non-conductive fiberglass. Little Giant’s iconic Hi-Viz Green fiberglass promotes safety for both the climber and passersby, as its vibrant color decreases the likelihood of accidental ladder bumping. And with the Ultra’s improved fully enclosed rail design, less strain is put on the fiberglass, making it a more long-lasting and durable ladder. Duty Rating The Ultra™ from Little Giant Ladder Systems® meets or exceeds all OSHA and ANSI standards and is rated Type IA to hold 300 lbs.

Great small, handy, functional and light weight for everyday use. I’m thinking about buying an exact same additional ladder. I’m older so I need a lighter ladder to take up and down stairs.
Thank you so much for the 5-star review, Michael! We're happy to hear that you're loving your Little Giant Ultra and that it's working so well for your everyday needs. The lightweight design does make it easy to move up and down the stairs—that's exactly what we designed it for. this step ladder was discontinued? VERY handy size for around the house chores. The work platform is perfect for having a sturdy standing spot for prolonged over-head work. The ladder top too is nice with places for tools and the magnetic cubby will save you from up and down trips to recover dropped bolts and nuts. I like the tube frame as opposed to the more common channel type. It is dimensionally smaller and makes for a very manageable weight. I highly recommend adding the Little Giant Loot Box accessory to provide even more places for stuff/loot.
Thank you so much for the 5-star review, George! We're thrilled to hear that your Ultra is working so well for all your around the house chores. The height and it's lightweight make it so manageable to move around. The work platform sounds like it's giving you that sturdy standing spot you need for prolonged overhead work, and we're glad the tool storage options at the top and the magnetic cubby are making your projects more convenient. We really appreciate your kind words about the tube frame design too—it's great that you're getting so much use out of your Ultra, and thanks for the tip about pairing it with the Little Giant Loot Box accessory for even more storage!
Thank you for choosing Little Giant!
This model #***** Ultra 3 Step Ladder is perfect for me to use inside the house to reach high places. It is very light, sturdy and has a useful tray to hold some hand tools, a cordless drill or a quart size can. The streamline design of the ladder is great for storage too. I use this for my lifted truck. I keep it in the bed of my truck and use it when I need to clean my windshield or clean the roof of the truck. I love the bright green color especially when I’m using when my truck is parked in the street or at the gas station and using it to clean my windshield. It’s high vis so I really like that.
Thank you for the fantastic 5-star review! We're so glad to hear your Ultra 2-Step ladder is the perfect companion for your lifted truck. It's great to know the bright green, high-visibility color gives you extra peace of mind when you're using it at the gas station or parked on the street. We appreciate you sharing how you use it, and we're thrilled it's making those everyday tasks easier. Thanks for choosing Little Giant Ladder Systems!
Size refers to the ANSI definition of length. ANSI states that the size is defined by the combined length of all rail sections, with a tolerance of +/-3” on each section. Note, this does not take into account any overlap between sliding sections like those on an extension or multi-purpose ladder. This can cause a disparity in the size of the ladder versus the actual height. To determine which ladder you need, Little Giant recommends you reference maximum reach height instead of size.
The terminology for ladder duty ratings, grades, and types can sometimes be confusing. The ladder's duty rating is the maximum safe load capacity of that ladder according to ANSI standards. There are 3 types of ratings that Little Giant offers:
Type I - Made to handle everyday projects. Has a load capacity of 250 lbs.
Type IA- Designed with durability and regular use in mind. Has a load capacity of 300 lbs.
Type IAA- Built for professional performance and rugged use. Has a load capacity of 375 lbs.
Ladder specifications can be confusing due to safety regulation requirements. According to ANSI (American National Standards Institute), the ladder size is defined as the total length of each section and does not account for overlap on extension ladders. As a result, the overlapping sections reduce the total length of the ladder. When purchasing any ladder customers should pay particular attention to the maximum reach to ensure the correct product for the job.
